How to Play - Instructions and Hints

The Setting

You are a guest at your cousin’s wedding and show up a little early. As soon as you enter the hall, a frantic woman, who you find out later is the birde’s mother, approaches you and hands you a seating chart and a list of 6 names. “These unexpected guests are coming you need to find seats for them,” she spills out and then runs off. You look at the chart and see the available seat are labeled and sit down to work.

Instructions

• The START button sets up a new game
• The buttons One through Six rearrange the unexpected guests among the seats
• These are color coded matching the list of unexpected guests on the bottom right
• Try to notice how each button rearranges the guests as the wedding starts soon and they need to post this
• You can ask if the arrangement works anytime
  • The “Is this arrangement, OK??” Button
  • If you wait too long that woman will rush up to hurry you along
  • She will review quickly and give offhand, often enigmatic feedback
• You can post the seating chart anytime to end the game by pushing the “Post Seating Chart” button or wait until the wedding starts and the woman will grab it and posted it anyway

Strategy

The feedback from the bride’s mother gives clues as to how your seating selections will impact the wedding. By interpreting these you can make the wedding go more smoothly within limited bounds.
